Accountability
The days are short, and the lack of sunlight gets me down. The obvious solution is to sew every day and make (hopefully) beautiful things. I've decided that it's reasonable to start and complete two major costumes between now and February. Why not add on the extra work of documenting them as I go?
Will this work? Probably not, but that's not going to stop me from trying. First up on the sewing table is a vaguely historical Sakizou design. The fig dress is a mishmash of an 1880s bustle dress with some late 1890s silhouettes, with a bunch of fantasy thrown on for good measure. My hope is to make the costume for Katsucon, and be able to use the main pieces in a second look for Sewstine's ball in March.
After I finish that beast, I am going to make a couture coat(?) for the Cosplay Met Gala meetup. It's a stretch for the theme, but I want to do an original design for Vaelus from this season of Crit Role. I'm not much of a critter, but someone made an elf nun of a dead god, and who am I to resist that siren call.
OK! next post will be actually interesting. The coset for Fig is almost done, and then she gets a bustle pad, and more skirts than you can shake a stick at.
